Responsibilities
Conceptualize and develop engineering designs for projects, from initial research and feasibility studies through implementation
Create technical drawings, schematics, and prototypes using computer-aided design and other modeling tools
Analyze scientific data and perform experiments or simulations to validate design hypotheses
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle, recommending practical improvements or alternative solutions
Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations that communicate technical findings, design choices, and process improvements to both technical and non-technical personnel
Maintain accurate records and ensure that all work complies with regulatory and safety standards
Work closely with other engineering teams, production personnel, quality assurance, and management to ensure project milestones are met while adhering to designated budgets and schedules
Provide technical support during installation, testing, and operational phases to ensure smooth project transitions
Evaluate existing processes and systems to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize performance
Keep abreast of emerging engineering technologies and methodologies to incorporate best practices into current projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Strong foundation in engineering principles coupled with hands-on experience in using industry-standard software (such as computer aided design, simulation, and data analysis tools)
Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and derive solutions for design or process challenges
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively document and convey technical information to varied audiences
Proven ability to work well in cross-functional teams, contributing to collective problem-solving and project success
Eagerness to keep abreast of evolving technology, methodologies, and industry best practices
Preferred
Ability to review technical information, perform basic calculations, and work with data using spreadsheets or similar tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures and guidance
Willingness and ability to learn new regulations, technical concepts, and agency systems
Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Interest in public service and environmental protection, and the ability to interact professionally with regulated entities and the public
