Legal Intern
Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for clients and the world. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to assist with legal research, licensing compliance, document drafting, and mergers and acquisitions support within a corporate legal environment.

Responsibilities
Conduct research on various legal issues, including regulatory matters, case law, and industry-specific regulations
Help coordinate professional licensing and registration applications for engineering and architectural practices
Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents under the supervision of senior legal staff
Assist with M&A due diligence, including data room review and summarizing findings under the supervision of legal staff
Help ensure the company’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations by assisting in the review and update of internal policies and procedures
Assist in organizing and maintaining litigation case files and other corporate legal documents and records
Participate in meetings with clients or other departments to understand legal needs and provide support
Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars
Contribute to special projects and other tasks as assigned by the legal team
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor (JD) program or recent graduate from an accredited law school
Strong interest in corporate law, contract law, intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, or other relevant legal areas
Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward
