Oil Lab Technician

The Oil Lab Technician is responsible for the testing and documentation of transformer insulating fluids, requiring attention to detail and experience with chemicals in a lab environment.

Responsibilities
Receive and document incoming fluid samples from customers
Perform checks and calibrations on laboratory equipment
Test fluid samples to determine their physical, electrical, and chemical properties
Analyze test results to confirm their validity
Perform routine maintenance on test equipment
Wash glassware and sample containers as necessary
Maintain laboratory as a clean and orderly work area
Coordinate the distribution of sampling materials to customers
Participate in lab quality programs and improvements
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED
Must be able to frequently kneel, bend, stand, crouch, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds to accomplish job tasks
Preferred
Associate's or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field of science. Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong skills working with computers and digital testing equipment, including efficient data entry
Ability to work safely, accurately, and efficiently both independently and as part of a small team
Capable of prioritizing multiple goals to meet deadlines
Willingness to work overtime when necessitated by laboratory workload
Professional experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required
