Environmental Planning Analyst

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Environmental Planning Analyst to join their Environmental Planning team in Los Angeles, California. Responsibilities

Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations
Assist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents in support of a full range of infill and/or land development related projects
Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members
Will likely gain expertise in: Sustainability, climate action planning, ENVISION, LEED, and Salmon-Safe
Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning
Working with infrastructure projects from across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, aviation

Required

Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmental Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)
2+ years of experience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities
Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning
Understanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning Law
Strong writing/verbal skills
Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Ability to work independently and as a team

Preferred

American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) Certification Preferred
Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus
