Mechanical Engineer (Signaling) – Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design and development of signaling components and systems, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards
Writing and developing technical specifications
Design parts, assemblies and drawings using CAD
Cross-departmental collaboration in design feasibility and continuous improvement
Create designs according to company procedures, regulations and client standards
Review and release technical drawings and BOMs
Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, thermal and structural analysis
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) at supplier facilities
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., AREMA, IEEE, ISO, MIL-STD) and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
6-10 years of relevant experience in sheet metal, composites, machined parts, assemblies, etc
Working knowledge of 3D modeling software
Able to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment
Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent technical writing skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
CATIA V5 experience
SmarTeam or TeamCenter experience
