Project Engineer
McKenney’s, Inc. is the Southeast’s most trusted name in facility construction, operation, and maintenance. They are seeking Project Engineers to work in a team environment, participating in various processes and systems related to construction and engineering.

Responsibilities
Participate and learn McKenney’s preconstruction processes, design and virtual construction, fabrication workflows, field installation, mechanical systems, and start-up and commissioning of those systems
Detailing of mechanical systems (ductwork, mechanical piping, and plumbing)
Coordinating McKenney’s work with customers and other trades through the BIM process
Estimating projects
Interacting with our suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
Working in the field as part of an installation crew
Develop good relationships through regular interactions with project managers, field and shop foreman, virtual construction team members, field operations, engineers, suppliers, and other trade sub-contractors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or building construction; will accept equivalent business management degree with a focus in construction or engineering
If no 4-year degree is attained, a High School diploma with a minimum 5+ years internal experience working with plumbing, piping, or HVAC systems in office or the field is required
Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software
Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Maintain a strong attention to detail and the ability to successfully prioritize company drafting needs to maximize company profitability
Team-oriented and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands
Ability to effectively communicate across a diverse group of people (PMs, drafting, field staff, fabrication shops, etc.)
Solid reasoning, math, science, and technical skills
Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
Must possess and maintain an exceptional work ethic and high level of project ownership as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
Must be persistent and able to attain results under adverse circumstances and conflict
Preferred
Demonstrated interest or experience in the construction industry
Two years of experience managing mechanical work
Strong Business Acumen (entrepreneurship counts)
Knowledge of Account Management (managing multiple customers)
Leadership exposure (conferences, training, etc.)
