Associate Dean for Curriculum and Instruction (Academic Program Director)
The University of Southern California (USC) is a world-class research university located in downtown L.A. They are seeking an Associate Dean for Curriculum and Instruction within the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. The role involves overseeing the life-cycle of courses and programs, managing academic scheduling, and contributing to pedagogical excellence within the college.

Responsibilities
Supports the life-cycle of all courses and programs of study within Dornsife College, from inception and development, to catalogue inclusion, and assessment and review
Oversees the scheduling and staffing process in collaboration with Dornsife Faculty Affairs in order to build the academic schedule for all classes
Develops, maintains, and oversees a rigorous cycle of assessment and continuous improvement, working with departments on the Undergraduate Program Review process, and in the regular collation and compilation of data for the purposes of reporting out to the dean
Contributes to the pedagogical life of the college by supporting innovative pedagogy, facilitating workshops, trainings and conversations with faculty regarding pedagogical best practices within the liberal arts and sciences, and by working to create a culture of pedagogical excellence, including innovation in online and hybrid programs
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
5 years. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum experience
Experience managing learning programs for adults
Demonstrated experience in management/leadership roles, building and maintaining relationships with domestic and international stakeholders
Proven budget oversight and planning experience
Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with exemplary attention to detail
Experience in higher education and/or customer service
Proven ability to plan, implement, and coordinate program logistics
Demonstrated database/data entry experience
Proven project management and problem solving skills, able to handle multiple timelines, changing priorities, and fluctuating workloads
Preferred
Master's degree
5 years of experience
