Aviation Facilities & Infrastructure Senior Engineer - Civil

Responsibilities

Coordinate and provide direction to multiple capital and expense projects and act as a project sponsor for infrastructure renewal and replacement, and/or expansion projects to support operational needs
Coordinate, plan, and implement facility-wide systems and be a subject matter expert for civil infrastructure and systems
Lead developing and defining asset management program for civil assets
Conduct annual inventory and verification for financial regulatory requirements and develop renewal and replacement programs for systems
Develop requirements and perform lead planning studies to support long-term vision and prepare and present presentations and memos for leadership to explain planning initiatives
Lead the development of preventative maintenance programs for operations and maintenance of civil infrastructure and systems to maintain aviation operations and maximize life cycle of systems
Develop, maintain, and govern civil design guidelines and standards for facility and infrastructure
Conduct integration of new methods, systems, technologies, materials, programs or processes including research of innovative or specialized solutions
Strategically initiate and sponsor capital projects to support comprehensive infrastructure plan and implement design vision to provide critical input to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required capital development plan
Evaluate project design drawings for large capital and expense projects for conformance to standards and specifications and coordination with other capital projects and expansion of existing infrastructure
Provide construction administration for large size capital projects including submittals, Request for Information (RFI), site observation, construction meetings, and punch walks

Required

Ten (10) years of experience in infrastructure planning, design, integration, modeling, maintenance, construction, and/or project management related to facilities
A bachelor's degree in engineering may be substituted for four (4) years of experience
Professional Engineering license
Ability to apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work
Ability to analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources
Excellent time management skills including prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and active listening communication skills
Ability to convey complex and technical details to individuals with varying degrees of technical knowledge
Effective leadership skills to mentor and advise engineering and architectural staff, including supervisory duties
Effective negotiation skills to resolve interdepartmental conflict over design solutions
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships on large capital projects to gain trust and establish credibility at all organizational levels
Ability to collaborate, manage, and lead multiple complex projects from multi-discipline teams
Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle
Compliance with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
Pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Obtain a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance
Obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
