Responsibilities
Investigate, evaluate and proactively resolve personal and commercial auto claims
Determines eligibility, coverage, and obtains appropriate documentation to process payments of claims
Responds promptly to inquiries from claimants, insureds, agents, and other interested parties
Timely and appropriate documentation of first and third party damages, dispatch appraisal assignments
Qualification
Required
4-year college degree or equivalent work experience in customer service, investigative or insurance
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate good customer service and interpersonal skills
Basic proficiency of MS Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Excellent organizational skills
Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
Able to adapt to changing circumstances
Minimum 1+ years claims adjusting experience, preferably in Auto
Familiarity with claims systems such as Guidewire and ImageRight
Strong investigation and decision-making abilities, including developing effective action plans for claims resolutions
Demonstrated capability to manage complex and disputed liability claims
Working knowledge of personal and commercial lines insurance including the ability to interpret policy language and determine applicability of insurance coverage
Knowledge of automotive repair methods and terminology and able to evaluate repair estimates
Knowledge of vehicle transfer procedures
Minimum 3+ years of Personal and Commercial auto claims handling experience, preferably in Hawaii
Strong decision‑making skills with the ability to identify significant exposures and coverage issues, including when to prepare formal correspondence and escalate matters to management
Ability to interpret and apply all lines of auto insurance policies
Preferred
Current Hawaii State Adjuster's License preferred
