Purchasing Specialist

SPICES USA INC. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, supplies, and services necessary for operations while ensuring production needs are met efficiently.

Responsibilities

Place purchase orders, negotiate with vendors, finalize purchase details, ensure vendor compliance, and communicate with vendors for smooth operations
Review and implement inventory replenishment processes, forecast demand using historical data and market trends, and continuously improve forecasting methods to reduce errors
Obtain market intelligence, develop cost comparisons and reports, control spending, and track key metrics to reduce expenses
Perform risk management for supply contracts, test existing contracts, prepare control strategies for unfavorable events, and support audits
Work with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of specifications, develop processes to capture business expenditures, and analyze data to foresee supplier-client negotiating abilities
Assist with transportation planning to ensure timely shipment deliveries

Required

Fully Bilingual - both writing and speaking
Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably within food-related purchasing
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and materials management principles
Familiarity with logistics processes and supply chain management
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and SAP
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong vendor relationships
Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and supplier performance
Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities effectively

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business Management
A degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
