Service Technician - Commercial HVAC

Responsibilities

Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant and adding charge
Install piping systems to include but not limited to drain piping, p-traps, water lines, gas lines valves and actuators
Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors
Perform start up, testing and commissioning on RTU’s, Air Handlers, VAV’s, Fan Coil units, swamp coolers and other Commercial HVAC Equipment
Test lines, components, and connections for leaks, brazing and soldering parts as necessary to repair defective joints
Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts

Qualification

Universal CFC certificationCommercial HVAC experienceBasic electrical circuitsWelding equipment operationCommunication skills

Required

5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification
Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring
Strong oral and written communication required
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas
Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments
Valid Driver's license and able to maintain a good driving record
Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e., but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection
