Personal Trust Officer
Piper Companies is seeking a Personal Trust Officer in the financial services industry offering hybrid work in Wilmington, Delaware. Responsibilities
Administer personal trust accounts in accordance with governing documents, company policies, and applicable laws
Oversee account setup, annual reviews, and ongoing relationship management
Ensure proper documentation for account openings and closures
Analyze trust documents and prepare for New Business Committee review
Monitor and resolve issues related to tax reporting, cost basis, and cash categorization
Participate in new business development efforts as needed
Apply fiduciary judgment and participate in discretionary distribution decisions
Collaborate with investment personnel and financial advisors to support client goals
Maintain fee schedules and ensure compliance with trust agreements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
5–7 years of experience in personal trust administration
Strong understanding of fiduciary law, Delaware-specific trust regulations, and investment strategies
Ability to manage complex trust matters with minimal oversight
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
Experience collaborating across departments and with external partners
Active involvement in professional organizations related to trust and fiduciary services
Preferred
CTFA certification preferred
