The Grant Accountant’s primary responsibility is to monitor and record all grant and donation activities, ensuring compliance and managing audits while performing day-to-day accounting tasks.

Responsibilities
Manage all grant and donation reporting for the organization
Maintain specific general ledger accounts in full compliance with GAAP including preparation of journal entries
Analyze financial information in response to inquiries from managers, vendors, and employees
Manage reconciliation of specific balance sheet accounts
Assist with preparation of annual tax returns and audit requests with external CPA firm
Monitor financial administration of contracts to ensure that proper documentation is submitted for expenditures
Provide a level of leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization, create and promote a positive and supportive work environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Ability to calculate and compile data using spreadsheets or other software to generate reports
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, Net Suite, or comparable ERP systems
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
Solid experience with managing external and internal audit requests and understanding of the full cycle accounting process
Preferred
Experience with non-profits specifically with government reporting and accounting
Cost accounting experience a plus
Proficiency in Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
