Art Director
Kohler Co. is seeking a digitally first, concept-driven Art Director to join their Global Creative team. The role involves developing creative concepts and executing them across various digital and social platforms, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance Kohler's brand storytelling.

Responsibilities
Concept and design creative ideas across digital, social, and omnichannel campaigns
Partner with Copywriter II to develop and execute cohesive visual and verbal storytelling
Own the early creative phase by gathering swipes, shaping moodboards, and clearly communicating high-level ideas that set direction for concept development
Carry early creative ideas into execution by developing strong designs and overseeing the work as it moves through feedback into final channel-ready assets
Explore and prototype ideas using emerging tools — including AI and generative design — to enhance speed and creative range
Create content optimized for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, kohler.com, and emerging digital spaces
Support the development of short-form video, motion, interactive content, and mobile-first storytelling formats
Stay informed on cultural, social, and aesthetic trends — bringing modern insight into concepts and executions
Partner with production and social teams to support agile capture opportunities and on-set content needs
Deliver design and art direction that meet the brand’s high standards of craft, clarity, and consistency
Provide clear, actionable feedback to retouchers, editors, and designers to ensure visual accuracy and brand alignment through final delivery
Work seamlessly across mediums — digital, print, in-store, and experiential environments
Collaborate with creative leadership to uphold Kohler’s global design standards across campaigns
Work closely with Copy, Design, Strategy, and Production teams to bring ideas to life
Participate in brainstorms, creative reviews, and working sessions
Present work confidently in internal reviews and partner meetings
Contribute to a collaborative, curious, and ambitious creative culture
Qualification
Required
4+ years of experience in advertising, design, or brand creative
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field
Portfolio demonstrating concept-to-execution work across digital, motion, social, and campaign design
Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); motion or video familiarity a plus
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
Working experience with photo/video art direction or production preferred
Awareness of social and digital best practices; familiarity with AI, AR/VR, or emerging creative technologies preferred
Experience in luxury, fashion, or premium design environments preferred
