Responsibilities

Supervising, evaluating and mentoring staff; training new staff in granting agency policies, processes and procedures; assisting with the monitoring of performance measurements for the office
Reviewing and approving financial reports and invoices for compliance with granting agency guidelines
Assisting with the management of audits performed by granting agencies; facilitating the audit process by providing records and information; assisting internal auditors during review of accounts; acting as liaison between academic departments and auditors
Responding to inquiries from principal investigators, business administrators, and granting agency representatives on a timely basis
Representing ASRSP at internal and external meetings and committees
Coordinating the development of new processes and procedures improving timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
Managing the activities of the office in the absence of the Director
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in accounting or related field
A minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in the administration of sponsored research (post award preferred)
Demonstrated expert level of knowledge of: Federal regulations related to research administration, including OMB A-21, A-110, A-133 or the Uniform Guidance, Other major federal funding agency guidelines, Major sponsor electronic systems such as Grants.gov, Financial and/or Sponsored audits, Export control regulations and policies, Ability to write policy and procedure documents
Supervisory skills; knowledge of sponsored project administration
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software

Preferred

M.B.A. or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and 10 years related experience in sponsored projects administration
