Omni Hotels & Resorts is opening a new hotel in Fort Lauderdale, which will feature extensive event space and dining options. The Purchasing | Receiving Clerk will be responsible for managing the inventory and storage of food and beverage products while providing excellent customer service to support hotel operations.

Responsibilities

Responsible for proper receiving, storing, and issuing of all food and beverage products in the food, beverage, and general storerooms under the guidance of the storeroom manager
Inspect and unpack all merchandise received, and stocks / stores it
Assists leadership in keeping the storeroom properly organized by sorting by group as stated by the storeroom manager
Assists in pricing and dating all groceries and canned goods; also, being aware of the importance of the first in/first out (F.I.F.O.) rotation
Strictly adheres to the operating hours of the storerooms
Assist in filling General Storeroom requisitions
Assists in keeping the storeroom properly organized by placing merchandise in its proper place as directed
Assist in end-of-month inventories
Keep all unauthorized persons "off premises ”, check requisitions for proper authorization
Assists in the inspection of the refrigeration units and brings attention to any deviation from the set temperatures as well as any deterioration of the quality of the perishables (record temperature on a daily log)
Responsible for the cleaning of all storerooms
To follow/adhere to Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations
Start a list for out of stocks/goods not received "items" so that follow-up can be made
Notifies manager of “dead stock” items
Verify that no requisitions are left open (all requisitions should be completed and closed out)
Check and lock all coolers/storeroom doors before departure at end-of-day
Comply at all times with Omni standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
Verifies that no requisitions are left open, inform manager of all “shorts” on requisitions
Follow closing storeroom procedures, including ensuring all cooler doors are closed; all doors are locked, key tags on the outside door and logbook available
Monitors vendor ability to provide timely and consistent quality according to established specifications

Required

Highly motivated self-starter focused on quality, organization, cleanliness, and teamwork

Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone
Ability to read requisitions and complete orders as requested
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to input information accurately and efficiently into computer systems
Must be able to work with and understand financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions

Move, bend, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to push, pull, and place objects up to 75 pounds without assistance
Stand, walk, or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift
Ability to squat, bend, and reach overhead
Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift
Desktop computer (Oracle, Birchstreet, Kronos and Microsoft Office), printer, telephone, copier, fax machine and scanner
Walk-in refrigerators, hand truck and lift-jack dolly

Preferred

Experience in purchasing/receiving and/or previous hotel experience
