Suncast Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to ensure that their products meet quality standards and adhere to company procedures. The role involves performing quality testing, developing inspection plans, and coordinating corrective actions to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Attending all new product pilot runs and first production runs
Working in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize process improvement, defect prevention, and the reduction of variation and waste through continuous improvement
Design, development, updating of quality tests, testing documentation, procedures, and requirements
Perform Quality Testing for new and current products to meet Customer and Suncast Quality requirements
Evaluate new production methods for new or existing products
Report on areas that may result in defects or customer dissatisfaction and propose solutions
Develop an inspection plan for all products. This will outline inspection method, lot size, sample size and defect action
Drawings on engineering standard sheets are clear and accurate
Ensure that all products have up to date inspection sheets
Evaluate non conformances internally and externally and determine if a root cause analysis is needed
Ensure that quality concerns are understood and addressed
Review non conformance data
Determine recurring trends
Coordinate the implementation of corrective actions
Perform the testing and evaluation of products with feedback to the proper departments
Support of all Suncast departments in assisting with any Quality related concerns
Support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods always. Suncast policies have been developed to ensure compliance with employee law
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
Three to five years' experience in a related manufacturing field
Experience in injection and blow molding products and processes
Team working skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Lean Manufacturing knowledge with a Continuous improvement mindset
Problem-solving skills and Corrective Action (CAPA)
Ability to present data effectively
Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
Good Organizational, Planning and Prioritizing skills
Understanding of engineering drawings (GD&T) and manufacturing processes
Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of management
Work independently and is reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
Knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods, tools, and quality manufacturing processes (ISO 9001, TQM, APQP, PPAP, DVP&R, FMEA, QFD, Statistical analysis and control, Inspection methodology, etc.)
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Lotus Notes
Preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt certified
Bi-lingual
AS400, SolidWorks, Mattec experience
