Grant Accountant – Finance/Administration Workgroup
Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles is a nonprofit law firm dedicated to increasing access to justice for the underserved in the Greater Los Angeles area. They are seeking a Grant Accountant to manage grants and contract billing, financial reporting, and assist with grant budgets and projections.

Responsibilities
Responsible for grants and contract billing and collections
Responsible for grants and contract financial reporting to funders and management
Assist with grant budgets and projections
Assist with grant-specific GL management and oversight (e.g., revenue-expense matching)
Assist with sub-recipient monitoring
Prepare and enter journal entries
Prepare and maintain prepaid expense and deferred revenue schedules
Prepare general ledger account analyses as required
Prepare accurate and timely monthly variance analyses as required
Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects and research as required
Qualification
Required
Strong accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
Strong Excel skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong initiative, problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Practical experience with fund accounting and cost allocation
Minimum 4 years of nonprofit accounting experience
Minimum 2 years of government grant billing experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work beyond a minimum 7.0-hour workday to ensure project completion, if necessary
Preferred
Experience with Abila MIP-fund accounting software
College degree in accounting
