MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) is seeking a Weld Team Leader who will oversee a team of welders, ensuring that all jobs meet quality standards and are completed on time. The role involves accountability for safety, productivity, and effective communication among team members while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Accountable for Safety, Quality and Productivity of all production employees on designated shift
Plan and assign work to team members based on scheduled requirements and deadlines
Investigate, document and report all incidents (accidents, incidents, poor performance)
Creates and maintains a safe work environment with strict adherence to OSHA and other applicable regulatory compliance
Enable effective communication between management and hourly associates
Train and mentor team members in welding techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
Monitor welding equipment, ensure good working condition, report any deficiencies
Ensure that all welding work meets quality standards and customer specifications
Collaborate effectively and efficiently with other shifts and departments, promoting teamwork
Work with the supervisor/manager to ensure that all goals are being met on the designated shift
Perform additional duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
In-depth knowledge of Welding processes, and equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Effective organizational, communication and time management skills
Basic computer skills required using MS Office and ability to learn ERP Scheduling software

Preferred

Previous experience in a leadership role
