First Episode Psychosis Program Coordinator
Mat-Su Health Services is seeking a First Episode Psychosis Program Coordinator responsible for developing and implementing clinical interventions for individuals aged 15–25 experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The role involves direct clinical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, outreach, and ensuring adherence to best practices in mental health treatment.

Responsibilities
This position requires compliance with MSHS’ compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation
Incumbent develops an outreach plan for agency, coalition, and community presentations
Participates in or may present staff in-service training regarding FEP, both internally and/or with other agencies
Creates a model for treating FEP that incorporates the best practice principles of FEP service provision with the culture and geographic considerations of the Mat-Su Valley
Meets with potentially eligible individuals and families to engage them in services
Demonstrates competencies in providing integrated assessment, individual, group, and family therapy using best practice approaches to treatment
Develops and maintains clinical and financial performance indicators that measure the program’s effectiveness and meet state grant reporting requirements
Assists with the development and monitors the program budget
Participates in treatment teams both as a consultant and a service provider
Maintains accurate documentation in the consumer medical record within the time frame established by the Agency and professional standards
May provide client and family engagement and/or consultation with other agencies and their clients pursuing FEP treatment
Qualification
Required
A Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is required
Licensed or license-eligible (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in the State of Alaska within three years is preferred
Two years of experience working in a mental health setting preferred
Prior experience with early intervention or psychosis-related services is strongly preferred
Knowledge of first-episode psychosis, recovery models, and coordinated specialty care principles
Competence in planning and delivering community presentations and staff trainings
Ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate clinical services
Knowledge of the current version of DSM and ASAM placement criteria
A basic understanding of the concepts of co-existing disorders, to include, but not be limited to, mental health, substance abuse, traumatic brain injury, and substance-related neurological disorders
Demonstrated knowledge of outpatient and rehabilitative services best practices and role impairment, organizational and administrative skills, service utilization, and outcomes measurement
Demonstrated proficiency in telehealth delivery and EHR documentation
Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Ability to independently manage caseloads and flexibly adapt to client and community needs
Ability to operate basic office equipment, including computer, copier, facsimile, and telephone
Demonstrated skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making
Clear background check (subject to DHSS background check)
Current driver's license; clear driving record
Current tuberculosis screening test result
First Aid and CPR certifications must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire
CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency. However, a current MANDT certificate may be substituted for CPI
Preferred
