Resident Services Coordinator - Renton Sage

Bellwether Housing is a leader in affordable housing development and operations in the Pacific Northwest. They are seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to support residents by providing resources and referrals, while fostering a sense of community within Renton Sage Apartments.

Responsibilities

Liaison between Bellwether residents and external community service agency resources. Maintain and facilitate relationships with service agencies, familiar with resources in Renton and the surrounding areas, including initiation of new partnerships
Follow up on referrals and services, providing advocacy for resident needs; ensure that the resident is connected to appropriate, effective services in a timely manner
Respond to crisis situations promptly using de-escalation techniques and a trauma-informed care approach. Initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems
Conduct ongoing outreach to all residents, including outreaching residents in their homes as needed
Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of residents and compliance with regulatory requirements. Archive all required forms and case notes securely
Distribute newsletters, brochures, and other relevant materials to residents, ensuring that communication accommodates language differences, cultural differences, visual impairments, and other necessary accommodations as required by residents
Relate to others professionally, respecting individual and cultural differences. Work to build cultural competence and understand how cultural background might influence the need for varying approaches with different residents
Collaborate with the building Site Manager and other site staff to resolve resident issues
Provide robust eviction prevention efforts, address delinquency, and support residents
Occasionally, travel to other locations to train and collaborate with other Bellwether Resident Services staff
Attend staff and community meetings. Update and share new resources with Bellwether staff and residents as needed
Complete all reports in an accurate and timely manner
Attend all the required training and safety meetings each year
Follow Bellwether principles, policies, and procedures; embody Bellwether values

Required

2 years of direct experience providing services to low-income households, seniors, and/or adults with disabilities, including the provision of information and referral services, preferably in a housing setting
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, including multicultural, age, and disabilities
Demonstrated ability to effectively intervene in crisis situations and make appropriate referrals
Experience navigating public assistance programs, such as Medicaid, Medicare, or SNAP
Knowledge of mental health, substance use disorders issues, and familiarity with mental health systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to work courteously and effectively with community groups, staff from partnering agencies, and volunteers
Experience in de-escalation and conflict resolution
Ability to maintain regular, reliable attendance records
Must be on site up to 32 hours per week
Occasional weekend and evening shifts

Preferred

Bilingual or multilingual: Spanish strongly preferred
Familiarity and experience with social services resources for low-income families in South King County or East King County and surrounding areas
Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field; four years of equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree
