Finance Manager
Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana is dedicated to advancing its mission through effective financial management. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including budget-to-actual
Partner with department leaders to monitor program budgets, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions
Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic planning and resource allocation
Assist the Finance and Grant Manager in tracking restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and donor intent
Prepare financial reports for grantors, funders, and key internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with Development and Program teams to forecast expenses and revenue for grant-funded initiatives
Support the Data Analyst, as needed, in developing dashboards and KPIs to monitor financial health and program efficiency
Present financial results and trends in clear, concise, and actionable formats for executive leadership and the Board of Directors
Translate complex financial data into insights that are accessible and useful for non-financial staff
Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support decisions related to programs, operations, and fundraising initiatives
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across accounting and reporting systems
Support the annual external audit and collaborate with auditors during financial and compliance reviews
Perform other duties as assigned in support of SHFB operations and mission
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in finance, accounting, business, or a related field required
Three to five years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field, with a strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems required
Ability to analyze complex financial information and communicate it clearly and effectively
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Collaborative, mission-driven mindset aligned with the values of Second Harvest Food Bank
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
