The Switchboard Operator is responsible for receiving and directing external and internal calls, monitoring alarms and emergency phones, and serving as a knowledgeable resource within the Medical Center operations.

Responsibilities

Receiving external and internal calls into the switchboard and directing the caller to the appropriate department or person
Monitoring various alarms, cameras, and emergency phones and managing as appropriate
Serving as a resource contact and being knowledgeable in many aspects of the Medical Center operations

Qualification

Multi-line phone systemMicrosoft Office SuiteMulti-tasking skillsOrganizational skillsClear communication

Required

Prior experience in a hospital PBX setting and/or answering service utilizing a multi-line phone system
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment
Must be able to communicate clearly, quickly and effectively
Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) computer skills for a variety of support functions
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential
Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position
