The County of San Diego is seeking a Revenue and Recovery Officer Trainee to join their Auditor & Controller's Office. This role involves the collection of debts owed to the County, assisting with victim services inquiries, and maintaining accounts receivable records while interacting with the public.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the collection of debts owed to the County

Assisting with victim services customer inquiries

Assisting with the lien services demand process

Obtain and analyze financial information

Negotiate payment agreements

Enforce collections through written correspondence, telephone and personal interviews

Determine the feasibility of pursuing litigation

Assist in the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of accounts receivable records

Spend a large amount of time in contact with members of the public over the phone and in person

Qualification

Required

Two (2) years of full time clerical experience in a debt collection agency

One (1) year of debt collection experience in a public, private, or retail credit or debt collection environment

An associate of arts degree (AA) or higher from an accredited U. S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency

As part of the County of San Diego's pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment
