Foster Garvey PC is looking for a full-time Conflicts Counsel to be an integral member of the firm’s New Business Intake Team. The role involves identifying potential conflicts of interest, preparing conflict waivers, and collaborating with attorneys on risk management. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a keen interest in legal ethics.

Responsibilities

Identify potential conflicts of interest for new clients and new matters using specialized software

Prepare draft conflict waiver disclosures and assist in drafting engagement letters to manage risk

Interact extensively with practicing attorneys regarding conflict resolution and risk management

Conduct factual and occasional legal research

Work closely with other members of the New Business Intake Team and other staff across all Foster Garvey offices

Other duties and projects as assigned under the supervision of the firm’s General Counsel

Required

Strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills

Strong interest in legal ethics and risk management

Ability to learn workflow software and other technology

Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

Demonstrated ability to write clearly, precisely, and succinctly

Excellent interpersonal skills, appreciation for teamwork, and a customer service mindset

Ability to prioritize among competing demands and to work from a software queue

Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to learn intake workflow software and document management software

JD degree from an accredited law school

A minimum of two years of legal practice experience or experience in a law firm new business intake department
