Software Engineer - Avionics Systems
Real Time Consulting LLC (RTC) is a company dedicated to partnering outstanding engineering talent to support client success. They are seeking a Software Engineer to conduct full lifecycle DO-178 development and testing of avionics systems, including defining software requirements, implementation, and verification testing.

Responsibilities
Conduct Full lifecycle DO-178 development and test of a proprietary method of flexibly mapping avionics I/O to seamlessly integrate with various aircraft
Define software requirements based on system requirements and the ICD
Implement requirements using assembly language-like code
Perform verification testing and create necessary DO-178 certification artifacts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
5+ years of experience in DO-178 software development life cycle
Experience with assembly language / register-based programming
Familiar with avionics I/O mapping
Familiar with A429 data bus communication
Experience creating test cases and test procedures (TC/TPs) for DO-178 verification of avionics software
Experience with hardware/software integration
Experience executing tests and analyzing test results to identify defects
Familiar with compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace products
Familiar with C language programming
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Accountable and takes ownership of assigned tasks
Self-motivated and takes initiative to get things done
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred
Familiarity with VectorCast
Experience with ClearCase for software configuration management
Experience with ClearQuest for change request processing
Experience with DOORS for requirements capture
Experience with aircraft surveillance equipment including TCAS, TAWS and mode-S transponders
