Early Intervention Service Coordinator

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. They are seeking an Early Intervention Service Coordinator to support children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and empower families as their child's first teachers.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Collaborating with families and team members to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
Working with multi-disciplinary teams to identify families’ needs for supports and services
Conducting home visits to provide guidance and coordinate care
Coordinating services such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy
Arranging and monitoring early intervention services to ensure continuity and quality
Planning for children’s smooth transition to other services at age three

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served
Bachelor's degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served
an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Thorough knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques of the field of early childhood developmental disabilities and infant mental health, including assessments and development of comprehensive treatment plans
Ability to evaluate and document child progress and adjust the plan as needed
Ability to coordinate and instruct staff, family members, and care providers in carrying out methods and techniques utilized in developmental disabilities and infant and child mental health and family studies fields
Ability to establish rapport and relate to clients, families, community agencies, and groups, and a variety of service disciplines
Ability to manage time independently and develop and use methods of organization to facilitate compliance with all timelines, documentation requirements, and procedural safeguards
