Cemetery Administrator (Cemetery Superintendent)
The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) maintains facilities and personnel in 10 countries. This position is responsible for directing the cemetery staff/resources to assure that the cemetery is maintained to the very high standards of the ABMC, as well as ensuring that the American Cemetery plays an active role in bringing the sacrifices of our veterans to the clear attention of the local community, host nation citizens, and Americans.

Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship
Dual citizenship may disqualify you for employment, regardless of overseas location
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by appropriate background investigation
Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered with Selective Service
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period
Merit Promotion applicants must have completed three (3) months of service after a competitive appointment to be considered
Employees are subject to geographic mobility agreements, which allow management to assign you to any agency location worldwide
Required to reside in government quarters, assigned by the agency based on family size, grade, availability, etc. Your input on your housing assignment will be very limited
You must be able to pass an initial drug test, as well as mandatory or random testing thereafter
May be eligible for incentive pay
May be eligible for superior qualifications/special needs pay setting
Direct Deposit of pay is required

Eligible for Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs

You may be required to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period
Because 16 of our 26 sites are in French-speaking countries, proficiency in French is a requirement for final selection for this position
A minimum score of ILR speaking 2+ / reading 2+ is required to qualify
For the GS- 12 level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11); or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Performing the full scope of supervisory duties by conducting all human resource management decisions including hiring, evaluation, discipline, and training; preparing and executing a budget for a program or organization; promoting the services and products of an organization; engaging in speaking events; and preparing or delivering oral presentations
Time-in-grade restrictions apply for all candidates considered under Merit Promotion (generally applicants who have held a Federal civilian appointment within the previous 52 weeks). These applicants must have 1 year time-in-grade at the next lower level or equivalent to qualify
To be considered for this position, you must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the GS-1630 series set forth in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards by the closing date of the announcement
Preferred
Proficiency in languages other than French (particularly Italian, Dutch, Arabic, and Spanish), while not required for selection, should be indicated on your application
Benefits
Relocation expenses reimbursed: Yes—PCS Expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the DSSR/FTR.
Eligibility for foreign area benefits will be determined at the time of hire.
Medical, dental, and education services may not be available in the immediate location and/or may be provided solely by host nation providers.
The selectee will be required to obtain a diplomatic passport and appropriate visas (at the cost of the Agency) prior to assignment.
The selectee will be required to live in assigned government quarters.
