PERSONNEL LIAISON ASSISTANT (OA)

Responsibilities
Serves as a focal point within the 81st Training Group / Resources Flight for the control and documentation of requests for civilian personnel actions
Assist in the administration of approximately 900 permanent party personnel training over 29,000 students annually at 6 academic training squadrons operating at four geographically separated locations
Provides continuing advice to all management levels within 81 TRG on employee relations, staffing, labor relations, employee development, benefits, awards, and classification and position management
Monitors the civilian recognition programs for 81 TRG and arranges for appropriate awards and retirement ceremonies
Use varied advanced functions of word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and database software

Required to complete SF-85 background check
If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement

Required to travel by military or commercial aircraft while on temporary duty
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of standardized civilian personnel processes to include awards, union procedures, retirement and hiring procedures
Knowledge of the Unit Manning Document to include determining authorizations, processing changes to higher headquarters, pulling documents from database and charging appropriate cost centers for authorizations
Knowledge of and skill in applying a standardized body of human resources (HR) rules, procedures, and operations
Working knowledge of the staff functions of the office to maintain files, receives telephone calls and visitors, and process incoming mail
Good customer service skills with ability to articulate ideas and opinions in a formal and informal setting
Practical knowledge of civilian personnel management, automated programs and administration procedures
Practical knowledge of manpower management documents and procedures
Ability to read and interpret specific procedural guidelines pertaining to administrative support, including locally developed equipment operating (a qualified typist required) and document processing instructions, which are directly applicable to the work
Ability to analyze, verify, and correlate data; locate, assemble, and compose information for no routine reports, inquiries, and technical correspondence; plan; organize work; and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing using tact and courtesy
Ability to use automated programs to produce necessary documentation
