NEOGOV is looking for a Sanitarian Supervisor for the Mid Ohio Valley Health Department. The role involves supervising and administering environmental health programs, assisting in program planning, and overseeing public health education initiatives while ensuring quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

Perform supervisory and administrative duties as assigned at the full-performance level

Assist the Chief Sanitarian in program planning activities and assuring the quality of service delivery

Perform lead work and provide supervision and on-job-training and standardizing of other professionals assigned to the regional program

Oversee the Environmental and Public Health education programs

Initiate enforcement action when necessary

Conduct performance evaluations of both personnel and program and be a step in grievance procedure and initiate disciplinary actions

Direct the Environmental Health Program in the absence of the Chief Sanitarian

Function as a field Sanitarian a minority of the time and perform Supervisor functions and other related work as required

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a sanitarian

Must be licensed as a Registered Sanitarian by the West Virginia State Board of Sanitarians or be eligible to be licensed with the Board per the Reciprocity section of the Practice of Public Health Sanitation, W. Va. Code R. §20-4-4 et seq

Must possess a valid driver's license

Availability of an automobile for continuous use may be a requisite for employment

Preferred

A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, environmental science, chemistry, biology, physical science or agriculture may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience
