Responsibilities

Support our multinational corporate clients on the following:
Dynamic project work conducted remotely or on-site depending on client needs
Variable hours in a consultancy role; commitment may range from part-time to full-time based on project requirements
Professional immersion in diverse corporate cultures and industries
Monitor the evolution of the privacy regulatory landscape and escalate sector-specific laws, regulations and standards impacting the company
Provide business units and relevant supporting functions with expert advice, to design appropriate processes and controls to address/mitigate gaps and risks related to privacy by design and by default
Deliver project management leadership and support for complex business and privacy related projects, ensuring privacy requirements are prioritized at the very outset of any project and develop creative solutions to embed applicable privacy requirements in the business planning of commercial activities

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) from a highly regarded, accredited institution
5-15 years' experience as a practicing attorney, with 5+ of those years as a matter expert providing legal advice on privacy, security, and data protection regulations, including (but not limited to) HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, FTC Section 5, state privacy laws, privacy impact assessments and development of frameworks, data-sharing and development of safeguards, and other related matters
Vendor relationship management/contract negotiation on privacy issues relating to third-party data sharing arising from new products and features
Substantive data protection and data privacy experience and in-depth knowledge of U.S. and EU privacy statutes, including GDPR and CCPA
Knowledge of standardizing policies, protocols, and training programs, including the associated documents such as vendor and client contracts; includes guiding various stakeholders, such as business and product development, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and procurement
Expertise drafting, negotiating and revising privacy and data protection provision of contracts and agreements
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, delivering precise, time-sensitive work product with minimal oversight
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across internal business units, executive leadership, external partners, and cross-functional teams
Resilient under pressure, adept at meeting tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy

Preferred

IAPP certification(s): CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, strongly preferred
Global exposure preferred, with experience advising multinational stakeholders and navigating cross-border compliance frameworks
