Foundation Accountant, Finance Business Partner

Responsibilities

Performing a wide range of accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation duties to support the fiscal integrity of the VHC Health Foundation
Managing the accurate processing of gifts, pledges, endowments, and restricted funds, and ensuring compliance with donor intent, internal controls, and accounting standards
Expert use of Raiser's Edge (RE7 and RE NXT) for gift processing, reporting, and reconciliation
Working closely with Foundation leadership, Finance Division, donors, partners, and stakeholders to provide timely, accurate, and transparent financial information that supports both fundraising and stewardship goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience required
Professional experience using Raiser's Edge or Raiser's Edge NXT, especially in gift processing, reporting, and reconciliation
Experience and familiarity with fund accounting, endowment management and donor-restricted funds
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, financial statements, graphic display of data and ERP systems
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Ability to collaborate and innovate with payment collection processes and other to drive efficient collection practices

Preferred

Experience working in non-profit, higher education or foundation accounting preferred
Experience with Workday, Microsoft office tools and similar skills preferred
Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) membership is preferred
