Activities Director

Bickford Senior Living is a community dedicated to enriching the happiness of its residents. The Activities Director is responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for seniors, ensuring a fun and fulfilling environment.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement activities in the following categories: physical (exercise), social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, and special requests of the residents
Conduct/lead activities as needed
Develop activities according to residents’ lifestyle choices
Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities
Chaperone activities outside the community
Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities where applicable
Train, support, and instruct other team members to conduct activities
Develop a Monthly Activity Calendar that incorporates activities 7 days per week and includes evening and weekend activities
Plan, coordinate, and implement decoration of the community for special events, seasons and holidays
Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen
Operate activity program within Branch budget guidelines

Qualification

Certification in Assisted Living ActivitiesBachelor’s degreeMicrosoft OfficeOrganizational skillsTime management skillsProblem-solving skillsEffective communication

Required

High-school diploma or GED required
A valid driver's license and a driving record consistent with Bickford's insurance carrier guidelines
Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications
Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
Competent in organizational and time management skills
Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in recreation or other health care related field preferred
A Certification in Assisted Living Activities is preferred but required

Part-time employees (29 or fewer hours per week) are eligible for Voluntary Life, Voluntary Short-Term Disability
