They are seeking a Senior Communications Consultant to lead strategic communications, manage Agile-driven projects, and provide guidance on communications strategies for government programs.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic communications and content development for senior federal executives overseeing workflows for newsletters, circulars, and Community of Practice marketing while translating complex subjects into accessible content, including executive talking points, training materials, and speeches

Managing Agile-driven projects, creating metric/out-come driven dashboards using PowerBI tools and SharePoint to provide senior leaders with actionable, data-driven insights for decision-making

Driving Agile adoption through coaching, collaboration, and continuous process implement initiatives

Authoring operational playbooks that facilitate implementation and operationalization of current administration executive orders and policies

Support nationwide internal and external communications campaigns

Provide strategic guidance to government programs around the latest communications strategies to reach their key audiences

Strategize and create original ideas for reaching and engaging target audiences and communicating key messages

Help coordinate development of print/web materials and ensure adherence to branding strategies, including presentations, brochures, data, images, proposals and reports

Generate creative and original ideas for reaching and engaging target audiences and communicating key messages especially around complex topics like risk and compliance in health care settings

Assist in maintenance of project documentation

Required

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree highly desired, preferably in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field

5 - 8 years of professional experience

Certified Agile Facilitator

Prosci Certified Change Professional

Certified Scrum Master

Experience/background in federal communications/marketing and a fundamental knowledge of core communications/marketing best practices

Excellent writing, conceptual, and copy-editing skills

Creative and analytical thinking skills

Strong oral communication and presentation skills

Strong attention to detail

Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting or independently

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US for any employer as sponsorship is not available for this position

Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates

Preferred

Prefer experience working for a federal government contractor, a consulting organization, PR/Marketing Agency, and/or Association

Prefer experience with supporting customer relationship response programs, and planning, developing, and implementing, communications, marketing/public relations activities, including developing communications plans, strategies, messages, and tactics as part of an outreach or education campaigns

Previous experience supporting strategic communications efforts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and/or one of its three administrations

Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or International Association of Privacy Professionals CIPM and/or CIPP certification
