Generator Technician
MetroPower is committed to excellence in service and is seeking a Generator Technician responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial generator systems. The role involves diagnostics, repair estimation, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generator systems using available technical resources
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and performance
Identify required parts, procure repair materials, and complete repairs efficiently
Maintain a fully stocked service vehicle with tools and commonly used materials
Assess equipment needs and determine the scope of repair work
Estimate repair costs including labor, parts, and materials using department standards
Provide accurate estimates to customers and communicate any changes promptly
Complete and submit detailed service reports and documentation for each job
Assist in prioritizing and organizing fieldwork to meet customer timelines
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure a positive service experience
Take prompt action to address and resolve customer issues or complaints
Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task
Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention
Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents
Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed
Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel
Qualification
Required
Must have at least 5 years' experience in Electrical Service, Commercial and Residential
Good Driving record
Good Communication Skills
Valid driver's license and can pass pre-employment screening requirements
Must be at least 18 years old and 21 for drivers
Provide I-9 documents to establish work eligibility
High school diploma/equivalent required
Generator experience a plus
Preferred
Technical degree preferred
An equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience can substitute
Generator installation is a plus, but will train the right candidate
