2026 Summer Intern – Machine Learning Engineer, Map Enhancements (PhD)

They are seeking a Summer Intern – Machine Learning Engineer to support the Map Enhancements team by deploying machine learning models and algorithms, analyzing data, and developing technical documentation.

Responsibilities
Build and deploy models and algorithms using Databricks
Develop scripts to manage data workflows using Python or PySpark
Analyze large datasets to discover trends and patterns
Present complex information using data visualization techniques
Create and maintain technical documentation
Complete training, learning, and skills development
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a PhD in computer science or a related field
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
Python software skills and experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
Demonstratable fundamentals in statistical modeling and machine learning frameworks and tools
Preferred
Experience working with cloud infrastructure and high-performance compute systems
Experience with geospatial data and analytics
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
Graduating between December 2026 and June 2027
