Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of complex paralegal duties, including assisting Deputy Attorney Generals and Senior Legal Analysts in the investigation, filing, and prosecution of complex civil cases

Manage, review, analyze, and evaluate documents and data

Prepare discovery, subpoenas, witness lists, exhibit lists, and demonstrative evidence

Coordinate witnesses

Prepare correspondence with outside agencies and the public

Create and maintain databases and libraries

Perform factual and legal research

Ability to communicate and write effectively

Knowledge of California Rules of Civil Procedure

Accuracy and speed of written work

Ability to work under short deadlines

Experience in complex civil litigation, including management, analysis, and presentation of large numbers of documents and large amounts of data

Experience in and aptitude for using databases and other relevant software for document and case management

Positive attitude and excellent work ethic

Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

Self-starter willing and able to work independently
