Environmental Engineer

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join the Bureau of Clean Water within the Department of Environmental Protection. This role involves providing essential engineering support for wastewater and drinking water systems, managing projects related to stormwater management, and overseeing water infrastructure improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Providing essential engineering support to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) Program
Overseeing the design and construction of wastewater systems, drinking water systems, and managing projects related to non-point source and stormwater management
Collaborating with a third-party technical assistance provider selected by PENNVEST, ensuring potential applicants receive appropriate guidance regarding program requirements
Managing the technical assistance contract as necessary

Environmental EngineeringProfessional Engineer LicenseEngineer-in-Training CertificateProject ManagementCommunication Skills

Required

Four years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering
This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
