Responsibilities
Support the design and execution of sets, builds, and physical environments from concept through installation and strike
Create set mocks, schematics, renderings, and visual references that clearly communicate design intent
Assist with material selection, testing, and sourcing to ensure quality and durability
Contribute to production design budgets by tracking materials, labor considerations, and fabrication inputs
Ensure production design work aligns with brand guidelines, copyright considerations, and production requirements
Assist in sourcing and coordinating with fabricators and vendors under the guidance of Producers and senior design leads
Help manage fabrication timelines, scopes, and deliverables
Track build progress and flag potential risks related to timing, quality, or cost
Partner with Creative Directors, Producers, and Project Managers to align creative vision with executional needs
Participate in brainstorms and concept development, offering production-aware creative ideas
Support pitch decks and client-facing materials with production design visuals and layouts
Help evaluate tradeoffs between scope, cost, and timeline to support smart creative decisions
Support on-set execution of production design elements, ensuring builds are installed and dressed correctly
Represent Fresh Tape Media professionally on set alongside the broader production team
Receive feedback and mentorship from senior designers and production leaders to continue skill development
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in production design, set design, fabrication, or experiential environments
2+ years of art department experience on sets
Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop and SketchUp (additional tools a plus)
Working knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and installation processes
Understanding of how lighting, camera, and video production interact with physical environments
Strong foundational design skills across layout, color, typography, and spatial design
Clear communicator with the ability to collaborate across creative and production teams
Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects at once
Solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt in fast-paced environments
Comfortable working on set and supporting live production needs
Ability to travel up to 25% and work extended hours as production schedules require
Interest in sports, culture, and experiential storytelling
