Senior Windows Systems Administrator

Responsibilities
Manage our Windows infrastructure to include installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades, with a strong emphasis on utilizing PowerShell and/or Windows tools to continuously review and streamline these processes
Support all aspects of our Windows Active Directory infrastructure (Unclassified & Classified), Windows DNS, DHCP, Veritas replicated file shares management & Windows DFS Shares
Implement and maintain robust system hardening techniques using security compliance tools such as Evaluate STIG, SCAP, STIG Viewer
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions, often leveraging your scripting skills in PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
Develop and maintain these scripts/tools to manage system administration, monitoring, and deployment workflows
Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during system outages or periods of reduced performance
Manage O&M activities to include plan and schedule preventive maintenance, and brief Change Review Board (CRB) as required for major changes to the production environment
Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Provide guidance to less experienced personnel on workstation/server data integrity matters and the implementation of standard software and hardware solutions
Support special projects and day‐to‐day operations as needed or assigned
Support on-call rotation schedule
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information security or related field and 8+ years of prior relevant work experience or a Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree
6+ years of Senior level experience in Windows server (Server OS 2019, 2022) and Windows 10/11 administration
Requires an current 8140 IAT Level II (Intermediate or Advanced) certificate (CompTIA Security+ or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) ) Training (DISA-US1390 DCWF Windows Systems Administrator)
Expert knowledge of Windows Active Directory infrastructure (GPOs, Group and User management)
Expert knowledge of Windows DNS & DHCP
Expert on DoD patch Management and Vulnerability Remediation (Process and Tools)
Experience with various client hardware including HP and Dell laptops, desktops, and associated peripherals
Expert experience with PowerShell scripting and remote management of workstations and servers
Strong knowledge of debugging tools and processes for diagnosing system issues
Knowledge of Veritas replicated file shares management and Windows DFS
Experience in managing or working with cross-functional teams to deliver projects
Experience with VMware and Hyper-V hypervisor
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
Knowledge of security tools and technologies to protect systems from vulnerabilities
Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.) and networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls)
Preferred
Experienced working at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB)
Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams (software developers, hardware engineers, network specialists, etc.)
Experience with current branch MS Endpoint Management platform in a distributed environment
Knowledge and experience in working with the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) /Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
