Senior Accounting Trainer & Assessor

Responsibilities
Responsible for creating educational materials and training programs related to accounting practices and principles for North America regions which includes US and Canada
Develop comprehensive training material for accounting roles covering general accounting, Tax, Auditing and Bookkeeping particularly for Senior Accounting roles
Deliver training sessions on various US and CA accounting topics and assisting trainees with understanding complex accounting concepts and software
Write, edit, and proofread content, transforming complex accounting concepts into accessible and informative material for our audience
Develop a deep understanding of our services and the accounting industry to create content that showcases our thought leadership
Act as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor to ensure all accounting learning content—across US and Canadian tax and audit programs—is accurate, current, and relevant for the learner audience
Review learner performance data and client feedback to identify improvement opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to enhance training effectiveness
Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and escalations related to US and Canadian tax and audit education, ensuring team members meet client expectations and program standards
Stay current with accounting industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in content creation to ensure our content remains relevant and authoritative
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement among the L&D team and across all stakeholder groups in TOA Global
Responsible for working within a Senior Advisory group setting the standards for our prestigious Financial Services training programs and ongoing development of team members in both technical & soft skills
Role-model company values, culture, and service standards
Mentor trainers and provide guidance for their career development
Review, update, and create training content aligned to TOA's job framework and North American and Canadian accounting requirements
Ensure all content is technically accurate, current, and reflects best practice
Maintain a content library that's accessible and fit for purpose
Develop practical examples, case studies, and scenarios that reflect real-world application
Establish and maintain industry partnerships to support curriculum
Analyze performance data to identify trends, skill gaps, and training opportunities
Monitor industry developments and assess impact on capability needs
Partner with business leaders to understand performance challenges and opportunities
Provide insights and recommendations on training priorities
Work with Training Managers to design engaging, effective training programs
Contribute subject matter expertise to learning design discussions
Support the translation of technical content into meaningful training experiences
Provide technical input and review for training materials across the region
Act as the go-to person for North American accounting, tax, and audit content queries
Stay current with regulatory changes and industry developments
Share knowledge and insights with the broader training team
Mentor trainers, team members and stakeholders on technical accounting matters (where relevant)
Qualification
Required
CPA or CMA designation (required)
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field in North America
5+ years of experience in a US Accounting firm
Excellent grasp of the written language, with strong attention to detail
Excellent grammar, clarity, and the ability to explain complex accounting concepts in an accessible manner
Solid understanding in Accounting/Bookkeeping, Taxation and Audit for US/CA companies
Ability to conduct thorough research to provide accurate and up-to-date information
Proven excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Stakeholder advisory skills, including the ability to assess needs, provide recommendations, and maintain ongoing relationships
Preferred
Experience in training or mentoring is desirable
