Aviation Maintenance Technician

The Blackhawk Group is redefining performance in aviation and is seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Technician to support their Product team and collaborate with the Engineering team. The role involves performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on turboprop and light jet aircraft while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of turboprop and light jet aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures
Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and replace aircraft systems, structures, and components to ensure airworthiness and compliance with approved data
Accurately document all maintenance activities in compliance with FAA, company, and customer requirements, ensuring complete, legible, and traceable records
Research aircraft records to develop and maintain a maintenance status board for each aircraft, including inspection, overhaul, and compliance status
Maintain organized and concise aircraft, engine, and propeller logbooks
Create and update aircraft maintenance status sheets
Assist with or perform removal and installation of engines, landing gear, flight controls, and related components, ensuring proper inspections, torque verification, and documentation
Collaborate within an integrated maintenance, avionics, and engineering team environment
Support aircraft return-to-service processes and work with inspection personnel to resolve discrepancies and complete corrective actions
Ensure proper use, control, and care of tools, parts, and equipment in accordance with calibration and tool control procedures
Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental procedures, reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
Work with team to perform and understand Blackhawk new-engine upgrade installations on a variety of single and twin-engine turboprop aircraft
Travel domestically and internationally to provide on-site engine installation support and customer training
Serve as a professional Blackhawk ambassador, demonstrating positive attitude, technical expertise, and strong customer engagement
Support maintenance and airframe/engine projects at Blackhawk’s Waco R&D and certification facility on both standard and experimental aircraft in support of STC development and customer upgrades
Assist in expanding and managing Blackhawk’s PMA parts capabilities, including in-house fabrication and coordination with external vendors

Required

FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
Progressive aviation maintenance leadership experience
Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and safety mindset
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance technical team

Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred, not required
