Manufacturing Engineer II

Responsibilities

Participate in design reviews and provide DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) feedback for CNC‑machined metal components
Develop and implement traditional and alternative machining processes for new and existing metal components (milling, laser cutting, turning, drilling, grinding, etc.)
Generate, revise, and maintain CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Edgecam, NX, CATIA, or similar)
Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and Automation)
Design or specify jigs, fixtures, and work holding solutions for CNC machines to ensure repeatability, accuracy, and safe operation
Provide day‑to‑day technical support to CNC operators and setup personnel
Evaluate moderately complex manufacturing processes by applying their knowledge of product design, tool design, fabrication, assembly, and materials
Develop moderately complex manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, testing, and modifying manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling
Implement lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Support the business by calculating production targets, labor standards, and material costs
Work with outside vendors and customers to support problem solving, process improvements, and root cause corrective actions
Identify and implement effective solutions to address challenges related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction
Develop comprehensive documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures to ensure standardization and regulatory compliance
Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area
Perform other duties as necessary

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, related field, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
3+ years of experience in CNC machining or manufacturing engineering in metal manufacturing environment
CNC programming experience, required
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to understand electronic processing
Ability to apply understanding of basic engineering principles and mathematics such as strength of materials, mechanical design, geometry, and algebra
Working knowledge of blueprint and GD&T interpretation
Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to analyze situations critically and make informed decisions
Ability to work, train, and develop verbal and written instructions
Ability to be innovative and embrace Lean enterprises principles and practices
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency for extended periods of time
Ability to safely work on the manufacturing floor and operate or be around heavy machinery
Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift

Preferred

EdgeCam and Catia preferred
Hands on experience with 3-axis CNC mills, preferred
MSS mainframe experience, preferred
Proficiency with at least one major CAM system (e.g., Edgecam, NX, Caitia preferred)
Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Inventor, CATIA or NX preferred)
Bilingual in Spanish or Tagalog, preferred
