City Activities Accounts Payable Clerk
The Salvation Army is hiring for the position of City Activities Accounts Payable Clerk. This role is responsible for processing all phases of accounts payable to City Activities, Shelters, Foster Care, and Camp funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial disbursements.

Responsibilities
Review incoming invoices for completeness, approval, prior payment history
Ensure W-9s are complete prior to new vendor set-up
Enter invoice data into accounting software
Mail checks and file voucher copies with backup information
Process remittances where applicable
Research statements, vendor inquiries, program inquiries, payment issues
Approve of SmartData transactions assuring accuracy of coding
Remote Deposit Check Capture processing
Responsible for monthly review and research of aged AP report old outstanding items, following up with responsible employees
Back up to Sr.A/P clerk & EDP clerk
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A high school graduate
at least 5 years of equivalent experience
Broad knowledge of all accounting, financial, and business principles
Intermediate competency of computer software including Word and Excel
Strategic thinker and effective decision maker
Good oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple levels of operations
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environment
As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter
Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 along with renewals every five years
Must have an understanding of, appreciation for, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army
Preferred
some college preferred, with emphasis in Finance/Accounting
