The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to prevent cargo theft and carrier fraud, shaping the fraud detection capabilities of the platform.

Responsibilities
Hunt down and aggregate cargo theft data from public records, news sources, government databases, industry reports, and online communities
Build and maintain datasets that power our fraud detection and carrier verification systems
Identify patterns and trends in cargo theft incidents, fraudulent carrier behavior, and double brokering schemes
Develop data collection pipelines and web scraping workflows to automate intelligence gathering
Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to turn raw data into platform features
Create reports and visualizations that surface insights for internal teams and customer-facing content
Support FOIA requests and data acquisition from federal agencies (FMCSA, DOT, etc.)
Monitor emerging fraud tactics and recommend preventive measures
Qualification
Required
8-10+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar tools for data manipulation
Experience with web scraping, APIs, and data collection from diverse sources
Ability to work with messy, unstructured data and make sense of it
Self-starter mentality—you don't wait to be told what to look for
Strong written communication skills (you'll help translate data into content)
Preferred
Experience in logistics, freight, supply chain, or insurance industries
Familiarity with FMCSA data, carrier records, or transportation regulations
Background in fraud detection, risk analysis, or investigative research
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Knowledge of machine learning concepts for pattern recognition
