Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc. is looking to grow their Actuarial team supporting the Actuarial Pricing function. The role focuses on supporting analytics of ceded reinsurance and capital model, evaluating ceded reinsurance purchases, and providing actuarial subject matter expertise to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop risk analysis models specific to the reinsurance purchase while maintaining consistency between the different lines of business

Perform any risk transfer testing analyses as required

Perform rating agency capital utilization on a company-wide basis, and by individual product basis

Support loss ratio planning in evaluating ceded loss ratios and monitor loss emergence against plan assumptions

Support the compilation of monthly and quarterly pricing reports, including key performance indicators and key risk indicators, while synthesizing and shaping key messages

Assist with the evaluation of new program opportunities, and existing programs with rating agency capital utilization, and any reinsurance/collateral analytics as appropriate

Provide actuarial peer review as appropriate

Required

A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required

Solid understanding and consistent demonstration of actuarial principles, techniques, and standards

5 or more years of relevant experience; prior experience in Pricing and/or Reserving for Property & Casualty business

ACAS designation or higher

Actuarial analytical skills necessary to appropriately analyze and evaluate a wide variety of differing lines of business

Demonstrable aptitude in areas such as business and technical communication, data analysis, leveraging technology, and strategic thinking

Ownership of process, project. Identifies opportunities for improvement

Meets deadlines, knows appropriate level of urgency needed. Early warnings brought forward

Recognizes top priorities, assists with guiding priorities for the team

Leverages relationships and establishes trust beyond the immediate team

Solicits and reacts positively to feedback, provides feedback upon request

Shares knowledge with broader actuarial group

Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals in a variety of functions (e.g. Finance, Claim, Underwriting, Actuarial, Operations)
