Sr. Instrument Engineer

CAM Integrated Solutions is seeking a Senior Instrument Engineer to serve as a technical point of contact for instrumentation projects. The role involves leading project teams, ensuring quality deliverables, maintaining budgets and schedules, and resolving project obstacles.

Responsibilities

Ability to identify and define design deficiencies and provide solutions through clear and precise communication
Able to estimate future potential projects
Successfully lead a project I&E team in the execution of a project by delivering quality IFC documents and maintaining budget & schedule
Possess professional presence and able to work with clients and vendors to resolve issues
Successful working in a multi-discipline team environment and can work on multiple fast paced projects
Create an execution strategy based on the Scope of Work & Design Basis
Maintain client relations by going to site visits, PHA/HAZOP reviews, 30%/60%/90% model reviews, Design Reviews, and Kick-off Meetings
Ability to be a self-starter that requires minimal help to execute a project
Able to work with the appropriate level of supervision and accept a high degree of personal responsibility for results
Serve as technical resource to Engineers, Designers, and other departments
Prepare the Instrument Index, I/O List, Control Narrative, Range, Alarm, & Setpoint List, Cause & Effect, PSV, Control Valve, Orifice, Tank Vents & Flow Meter Sizing calculations
Prepare datasheets and specifications for all Instrumentation Equipment: Control/RTU Buildings, Station Control Panels, RIO Panels, Gas Chromatograph Building, Meter Skids, Flow Control Skids, HIPPS or Over Pressure Protection Skids
Review of vendor quotes, develop technical bid evaluations with clarifications
Review of PIDs and provide input and suggestions
Review design deliverables: Area Classification, Cable Schedule, Installation Details, Instrument Plans, Panel Drawings, Junction Box Drawings, Network Topologies, and Vendor Drawing Packages
Coordinate with other design disciplines, including internal and external stakeholders, as needed to complete project deliverables
Support the development and management of project scopes, budgets and schedules
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes
Assist project proposals with identifying electrical scope, cost, manhours and schedule
Identify Scope Changes or Additions and communicate with the project team to develop the associated Change Management Documents
Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
Identify critical path and/or progress inhibiting items, recommend corrective recommends corrective action, and coordinates with the Project Manager to follow through with implementation plan
Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Attend Project Reviews and Meetings (Design Review, Weekly Meetings, etc.)
Provide technical input and interface for Engineering and Design deliverables including the production of some discipline specific deliverables
Provide construction and commissioning support

Preferred

10 years minimum Controls and Instrumentation experience in Oil & Gas and petrochemical industry
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects
Knowledge of relevant Industry Standards
Independently determined methods and processes
Self-motivated
PE License and NCEES record is preferred
