Responsibilities

Assists in gathering user requirements, and develops and recommends IT hardware, software and tools solutions to satisfy user requirements
Assists senior admin with provisioning data storage resources to accomplish project objectives
Assists in implementation and support of Health System technical projects
Assist senior admin for resolving problems concerning the data storage environment, contacting vendors for support when necessary, facilitating production application systems and resolving problems involving customers with optimum speed and efficiency
Tests, evaluates and installs new hardware, software and tools as they relate to the corporate data storage environment
Assist in performing daily performance and event analysis
Must integrate with ITS team in the installation and support of systems in the corporate environment
Assists in the development of work and project plans, and can provide technical guidance for team members
Performs other job duties and responsibilities as assigned
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with some night and weekend work

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or technical training with equivalent related experience in a large, corporate data storage environment
At least three (3) years of experience in configuration, design, implementation, and monitoring of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and enterprise backup systems
Experience and knowledge in the following areas: Storage Area Networks, Network Attached Storage, Enterprise Backup Systems and Storage Resource Management
Network data communications experience including knowledge of VLANs, Fibre Channel and TCP/IP
All areas require demonstrated, strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience in a large data storage environment with ability to handle numerous complex tasks at once

Preferred

Experience with HP, EMC and Symantec data storage products
High-availability fibre channel and clustering experience
VMWare, Microsoft and AIX Operating System knowledge
