Responsibilities

Build, Secure, and Maintain: System administration tasks, upgrades, security hardening, and maintenance of critical systems, including hardware and software components
Network Architect: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches, ensuring a robust and secure network infrastructure
Security Champion: Implement and maintain security best practices, including DISA STIGs, and contribute to our compliance with NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and CMMC frameworks
Troubleshoot and Resolve: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal system performance
Documentation Master: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of internal processes, procedures, and system configurations
On-Site Support: Travel to customer locations for system installations, upgrades, and repairs (approximately 5% travel)
End User Support: Provide end-user support for system-related issues, ensuring a positive user experience

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
CompTIA Security+ certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
3+ years of relevant experience for Systems Administrator II
7+ years of relevant experience for Systems Administrator III
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance are required
Solid understanding of interfacing subsystems, hardware, and software components
Proficiency in Shell/Bash scripting for automation and system management
Deep understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and networking principles
Proven ability to build systems from the ground up and effectively troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Ability to understand requirements, perform analysis, and document software or system requirements
Ability to design and develop solutions both independently and collaboratively within a team
Excellent multitasking and time management skills
Ability to clearly document technical solutions for both internal and external audiences

Preferred

Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in an enterprise environment
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman
Working knowledge of Cisco and Arista network switches
Experience creating RPM packages for software deployment
Experience automating IT tasks using Ansible
Experience creating Kickstart installation media
Hands-on experience implementing DISA STIGs for systems and network devices
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and CMMC
