Mayhill Hospital is seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technicians to make a meaningful impact in patient care. The role involves providing direct patient care under supervision, ensuring safety, conducting regular checks, and assisting in daily living activities.

Responsibilities

Ensure patient and environmental safety by conducting unit safety checks and patient rounds observations

Closely monitor patients on special observation status; report and record behavioral changes

Provide Registered Nurse with patient information to assist them in daily evaluation and planning of patient care

Assist patients with ADL’s, assist with meals and escorting patients as needed

Perform patient vitals throughout the day and record data

Perform search for contraband items; sort and organize patient belongings

Ensure patients and environmental safety per monitoring processes, e.g., Unit Safety and Patient Rounds

Under the direction of the licensed professional, assist in provision of care as indicated in the interdisciplinary treatment/recovery plan

Required

High School Diploma or recognized GED required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction or inpatient psychiatric health setting required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree preferred

Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred

Proficiency in computer-based skills

Knowledge in patient safety preferred

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Strong teamwork skills

Excellent organization and time management skills

Strategic and empathetic decision-making skills
